Family Bicycle was originally started in 1972, moved to present location in 1974 by Erv Gingerich.  Purchased by current owners Mark and Georgia Gingerich in 1978, they have proudly been serving  Elkhart and the surrounding area for the past 32 plus years.  Family Bicycle Center has carried a number of different lines through the years including Cannondale, Giant and Redline which they still carry today.

The construction of the US 20 Bypass enabled Family Bicycle Center to take advantage of an opportunity to serve a wider area of customers. Family Bicycle Center welcomes new customers every day.  Striving to serve Elkhart and the  surrounding area in the best way possible, Family Bike intends to exceed your expectations of what good service is.  If you are coming in to find your child’s first bike, a new high end road or racing bike; if you are a weekend warrior, or a urban cruiser, Family Bicycle Center wants to become your main bicycle center

We service all makes and models of bicycles whether purchased at Family Bicycle Center, another shop, or your local garage sale.  We specialize in custom wheel building with over 30 years experience. Got a difficult repair, no problem, we have done many that other shops said they couldn't do ! 

Layaway:

Initial deposit required for layaway is 20% of the total payment with 90 days to pay it off.

Special Orders:
We are happy to place a special order for you from any of our manufacturers or distributors.  You will be quoted a cost for the order, and you will be required to place 50% of the cost as a deposit.  We will hold your special order for you to pick up for a maximum of one month.   It is our policy that all items are paid for in full when they are picked up.

Returns:
All items, undisturbed and in original packaging, can be returned for full refund or exchange for up to one month from the day of purchase, an original receipt is required for all returns or exchanges. All special orders, accepted at the time of purchase, cannot be returned.
